Call us now:
Thank you for posting Ted Dziekanowski. EV security has got attention recently and one suspects it will get more. With more than half of new vehicles in the U.S expected to be EV by 2030, and the UK expected to have 30% EV vehicles on the road by the same time, the EV market will explode.
To accommodate the growth EV infrastructure is growing, by way of example the U.S passed a Bill in 2021 to fund $5 Billion to install EV infrastructure for its 50 states and cover 75,000 miles of road. But security remains a big issue for EV, with reports of charging points hacked, vehicles hacked and one can only assume that broader infrastructure has problems (cloud security has its own issues).
EV is covered under the EU NIS Directive, so one can assume that the U.S will follow suit due to the critical nature of EV infrastructure. Looks lie a good time to focus on EV infrastructure cybersecurity.
