Thank you for posting Ted Dziekanowski. It is an obvious that EV vehicles rely on the full provision of CNI from power generation, transmission and the delivery of power through EV chargers. However the hub and spoke of EV charging provision, from power generator to the end user is vulnerable to cyber attack. Its why its being regulated.
It has been demonstrated many times over the past 12 months that EV charging resilience is an issue when it comes to cyber attacks. It is an issue that is regulated int he EU and will be regulated through the ONCD strategy and SEC proposal in the U.S.
The failure to secure the EV value chain will be costly. One suspects that CNI providers and their boards will be held to account for compliance to cybersecurity risk management, the moment a cyber attack brings a network down. Or in the EU the moment EN NIS 2 becomes law and auditors are able to conduct Ex-Post and Ex-Ante audits.
