Thank you for posting @Thaddeus Dziekanowski, CNI is a target for a variety of reasons. Demonstrated by recent events such as the Baltimore Ship disaster and cyber attack on UnitedHealth in February, CNI is critical to the functioning of society. It is also an easy targets for threat actors or simply accidents.
CNI also invariably presents concentration risk making it a valuable target. It is also poorly serviced as one considers resilience. One can only expect there to be more successful cyber attacks against CNI as cyber attack frequency is on the rise.
