Thank you for publishing Matthias Punz. As Germany is the largest European Member state, it is important therefore it is taking steps to progress the implementation of EU NIS 2 cybersecurity risk management regulation. The German Federal Interior Minster Nancy Faeser has presented a draft law to implement NIS 2, amending the BSI Act. Putting the train in motion for the transposition of NIS 2 into German cyber law.

With varying estimates of the number of companies impacted by NIS 2, ranging up to 50,000 companies. NIS presents a significant compliance challenge all be it one that is being regulated by all EU Member states. NIS 2, and DORA, present some significant challenges for covered entities. The clock is ticking for other EU member states to transpose NIS 2 into local laws and for covered entities to prepare to demonstrate regulatory compliance.
