Thank you Rachel V. Rose, JD, MBA for sharing. This is an important announcement for U.S Federal Contractors by U.S Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), chairwoman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee’s cybersecurity, information technology and government innovation subcommittee. Who announced the Federal Cybersecurity Vulnerability Reduction Act of 2023.

An Act that if passed would incorporate requirements for all U.S Federal contractors to receive information about potential security vulnerabilities relating to an information system owned or operated by a contractor. Through a process that is aligned to NIST standards were practicable. A requirement that applies to defense contractors, with an exception on grounds of national security. (https://lnkd.in/eaRzsfbC)

A further example of proposed regulatory changes for U.S cybersecurity, that if adopted by FAR could provide another opportunity to challenge Federal Contractor, contract compliance. Could this lead to a consistent approach for all federal contractors to ensure they have a Vulnerability and Patch program and demonstrate that their systems are patched? One to watch.
