When you are in a conflict, as Israel and Iran are, you cannot expect to have friends. As this weeks hack by Israeli hacking group Predatory Sparrow against the Iranian crypto currency exchange Nobitex demonstrates. In this case transferring and locking down crypto funds totalling £90million, preventing access to the tokens.

Cyber is an agreed domain of operation by NATO, it’s a security domain that sits alongside kinetic warfare. A domain that nation state threat actors and their proxy’s are quite good at. Cyber is a threat that is used quite effectively as this attack demonstrates. As did the hack earlier this week against Iranian bank Sepah, reportedly by the same hacking group.

The unfortunate truth is if you can get in and take control, you can do whatever you want.
