Thanks for posting Ted Dziekanowski. The DoJ is gearing up to focus on national security corporate cases, hiring 25 new prosecutors tasked with tackling sanctions evasion, export control violations, AML and asset recovery.
One is always interested when the term national security is used in the context of investigations, and oversight. It has a tendency get the interest of corporate boards and regulatory enforcement.
‘Miller said the U.S. could increase its emphasis on trade secret issues involving China, citing the formation of the Disruptive Technology Strike Force, a partnership between the Justice Department and Commerce Department that focuses on areas where technology is being illegally obtained by foreign adversaries.’
That raises a question over the protection of data used for the design, manufacture and services of weapon systems manufactured by DoD contractors and subcontractors, covered under U.S DoD DFARS 252.204-7012. It’s protection, theft and impact on U.S national security, given it’s been regulated since 2017?
“We’re looking at all kinds of different ways that that’s happening, from cybercrime, to export control violations to intellectual property crime,†Miller said.
