Thanks for posting Ted Dziekanowski. There should be little doubt that countries need to evaluate the adoption of cybersecurity frameworks and standards, with countries like the U.S, EU, Australia and Canada moving to regulate cybersecurity risk management.

Cyber is a geopolitical, national and economic security issue. Requiring the harmonisation of cybersecurity between partner nations, in the interests of international trade, data sharing, economic and national security. As nations working to different frameworks and standards risk creating uncertainty and doubt and will increase security risk.

The interesting observation is that all recent cyber regulation that one is aware requires the implementation of cybersecurity risk management, and that is a different paradigm to cybersecurity. Albeit most regulations are prescriptive rather than descriptive in their adoption of cybersecurity risk management frameworks and standards. Cybersecurity risk management requires an organisation to adopt a risk based approach to managing cybersecurity and for good reason. A reason why we feel that CSF profiles are an appropriate framework for cyber risk management. (https://lnkd.in/erHNBwEV)

Expect to see an increased focus on cybersecurity risk management frameworks and standards as cyber regulation is released, requiring oversight, assurance and attestation.
