The AI Genie is well and truly out the bottle.

The AI Genie is well and truly out the bottle. AI has already consumed much of the data that it can get it hands on across the internet and the data it hasn’t got hold of will end up forming domain specific LLMS over the near future.

One wonders how AI can now be regulated to any meaningful degree. The US sees AI as critical to maintaining a technological edge over China. On the other the US has to consider how it will protect civil rights as AI is adopted more by the public and private sector. The EU is enacting the EU AI Act, last week the EU announced it intends to continue with its code of practice. The EU AI act is seen by some as overly broad and imposes excessive burdens on AI implementation, that could stifle innovation.

So what next for AI? Its now to late to put it back in the bottle, it has the potential for great good and comes with allot of risks, if not managed appropriately.
