The Australian Government today published cybersecurity guidelines for Corporate Leaders, in what must be one of the first of its kind. It identifies the obligations for the both left and right of bang cybersecurity risk management for corporate leaders. As defined under Australia’s current data protection and cyber regulations.

It reaffirms the important role that corporate leaders have played in the management of cybersecurity, and their responsibility for the management and reporting of cyber incidents to respective regulators. Across covered sectors including CNI, Financial Services, entities responsible for systems of National Significant (SoNS) and those companies covered under Australias Privacy Principles.

By reaffirming these obligations, it is reminding corporate leaders and clarifying their obligations for the management and reporting of cyber risks.
