The CMMC bell is tolling for contractors to Lockheed Martin as the reiterate the requirements of its suppliers to comply with CMMC and submit their scores to the DoWs SPRS system and provide their CMMC status to Lockheed Martin.
So buyer beware, do not under any circumstances misrepresent your CMMC score, as CMMC is regulated by DFARS, and the foundational requirements for DFARS go back as far as 2017.
CMMC is not a FUD conversation; it’s a legal, compliance risk conversation. It’s highly unlikely that you will get a compliance waiver; if you do, it’s highly likely to come with penalties attached for non-compliance. Will the likes of Lockheed Martin accept the risk of non-compliance if they have to carry that risk back to the DoW?
