The cost of the Capita’s recent cyber attack has been estimated to be between £15 million – £20 million, as the company declares to UK markets and shareholders.

Looking at their EU operations one hopes they have considered the implications of EU cyber regulations. As a service provider to CNI and FIs in the EU they may find themselves discussing their supply chain cybersecurity and ICT risk with their clients. One wonders if they have to comply with EU cyber regulations, under DORA (if they are considered a high risk service provider to FIs) or as a service provider to CNI sector firms (Telecommunications, Utilities, automotive) under NIS 2.0.
