The cyber attack on M&S seem to be going on, and on, and on it’s showing no signs of getting better, which is an indication of the veracity of the incident.Being able to order your knicker online to one side, the attack highlights the interconnected, digital dependence of M&S and modern retail. As we have seen over the past week M&S is not the only major UK retailer to suffer from a cyber attack, with the CooP and Harrolds have also under cyber attack. With clothing sales equating to £3.8m a day, every day that goes forward is a problem, with £750m wiped off its value, and Deutsche Bank estimating that the attack has taken £30m off its annual profits, £15m a week. Money the retailer cannot afford to lose.It maybe coincidence that M&S, the CooP and Harrolds all use the same ERP system.@Thaddeus Dziekanowski Brian D.
