The JLR cyber attack highlights the issues faced by UK industry and the fragility of the sector to shocks such as cyber attacks.

This week, communications by the British Government demonstrate the concern and challenges the UK has with Cybersecurity. Writing Dear CEO letters to the boards of UK companies, asking them to manage cyber risk.

But JLR is a precursor to the bigger issues the UK has with Cyber attacks and CNI. The Concentration risk of cyber against CNI is a much bigger concern. The frequency, complexity, and severity of cyber attacks over the past 5 years have rocketed. The severity of attacks on UK industry has highlighted the issues with UK cybersecurity. Issues that Dear CEO letters will not resolve.

Polite conversation does not address the cyber gap the UK faces. A gap in knowledge, skills, and experience, needed to address cybersecurity risk management and its impact on national and economic security.
