Call us now:
The pace of technological change, the complexity of digital products and services, the lack of skilled board members and leaders to interpret AI and cyber risk, and the lack of appropriate governance, oversight, and assurance of AI and cyber risk are creating paths that are converging on one place, one place only, and it’s not a good place.
There was once an adage that boards are responsible for managing risk. But the risks that technology is creating are developing so quickly, and with the advent of AI, adapting with little human intervention. AI can create issues and risks in milliseconds. As this article and a recent MIT report on AI concluded, Agentic AI needs a kill switch to compensate for the lack of risk management control.
AI adoption needs to be disciplined, managed within guardrails, and boards need appropriate governance to oversee and assure AI risk. Without it, we’re in danger of enabling systems that have no empathy, whose reasoning is based on probability, and giving it control over business and OT enabled processes at our peril.
