The reality of AI and cyber is quite simple. It’s like bracing for the impact of a depth charge, you’re not sure what damage it will do.
AI takes the information that have been created by the defenders of infrastructure. It takes the knowledge created for cybersecurity risk management, that’s in the public domain. It then accelerates reasoning using a data set far greater than any defender can create and analyse, in real time.
Can we reasonably defend ourselves against AI, if we find it hard to defend ourselves against conventional threat actors. More so when threat actors have taken AI and the information we have given them, and it has been demonstrated that conventional AI platforms can be weaponised.
Finally throw in most organisations have ignored cybersecurity risk management and find it difficult to defend themselves against conventional threat actors.
