The SEC has adopted a Pay Vs. Performance ruling. Requiring public companies to disclose how much of their executives compensation is related to financial performance.
If the SEC Cybersecurity Risk Management proposal moves ahead, the management oversight and assurance of cybersecurity risks will be declared to markets. With the potential to inform investors of cyber performance, credit ratings, increase legal risk and in the event of a cyber incident provide a historic record of declared cyber maturity.
