The U.S and EU are working together to develop a joint roadmap for cybersecurity labeling. One has commented on the move by the ONCD and EU as they developed separate cybersecurity marking schemes through the ONCD strategy and EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).

“We want companies to know when they test their product once to meet the cybersecurity standards, they can sell anywhere,” said Anne Neuberger, the White House’s deputy national security advisor for cyber and emerging technologies. “They can sell in Paris, Texas, or Paris, France.”

With both U.S and EU schemes being quite different, reaching a common position that gives both parties what they want will be important. As an effect on EU and U.S product and services providers will be an increase in the cost of cyber compliance over the life time of their products.
