The U.S Defence secretary has ordered a comprehensive review of the DoDs security programs, policies and procedures for protecting sensitive information. That appears to follow the recent publication of sensitive data.

One suspects that a policy, procedure and education review maybe a little light touch when a data Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability (CIA) program is more likely beneficial. However one can take weeks and the other months.

It would be interesting to see how a review of security programs takes shape. The DoD has been required to comply with FISMA and implement both the RMF and CSF profiles. The DoD has its own program under DoDi 8510.01 to address FISMA compliance that includes the risks assessment of DoD system, that includes data, and the implementation of controls for least privilege access.(https://lnkd.in/dVdM3ZRq).
