The U.S GAO issued a report on the 07.02.2023 focusing on the challenges in Protecting Cyber Critical Infrastructure. Raising concern and making recommendations to address Federal cybersecurity risk, that includes
1. The Department of Energy needs to address cybersecurity risks to the distribution system more fully in its plans to implement a national cyber strategy.
2. The Department of Education needs to increase coordination with partners to address cybersecurity risks.
3. CISA needs to assess the effectiveness of its programs to support the communications sector.
4. The Department of the Interior needs to address oil and gas infrastructure cybersecurity risks.
5. DHS and the Department of Justice to improve interagency coordination against ransomware attacks.
