The UK Government announced in the 2025 strategic defence review that it has moved the responsibility for Government cybersecurity to the Department of Science Innovation and Technology (DSIT), from the Cabinet Office.

The move starts to shape the UKs ownership, accountability and responsibility for cybersecurity.
