The UK Government, specifically the House of Lords, is making amendments to the UK’s Cyber Resilience Bill that are slowly pushing it towards alignment with the EU NIS2, US National Security Cyber Regulation, and a regulation that focuses on the threat that cybersecurity poses to UK National Security.

The Cyber Resilience Bill is going through a considerable Update through the House of Lords. In my opinion, an update to bring it in line with other international regulations and, importantly, one that makes it risk-based with board accountability, oversight and assurance through annual audit and attestation. Enforced through a Single Regulatory Authority called the Office of Cyber Resilience with the power to levy financial penalties.

While not yet approved by the House of Lords, it seems to be movign int he right direction.
