Call us now:
There are no unintended consequences of a cyber attack. Our reliance on digitial by the public, private sectors and society is so profound. We cannot close our eyes and wonder what the effects of a cyber attack are and will be in the future. The many years of FUD debate and failure of market forces to resolve the ‘Cyber problem’ have caught up on us all.
The impact of the cyber attack on Marks and Spencer has bought home to the British shores the effect of cyber on the UK retail industry. While PR and Marketing firms do their best to manage the fall out for M&S. There’s been a real world effect of the attack on market cap. An effect on consumers. An impact and cost to brand and brand loyalty. While the share price will rebound, brand and brand loyalty takes a little longer to buy back.
One hopes that we will start to realise that managing cyber risk ‘Left of bang’ is far cheaper than managing cyber risk ‘Right of bang’. Something we wrote about several years ago.
