There maybe trouble ahead? Is the broader focus on Ai masking other challenges across the tech sector? Historical over-hiring, overspending, an uncertain economic environment, slow growth and uncertainty of how AI will deliver value point to a struggling tech sector.

“When you look at technology outside of AI, there’s not that much happening,” said Tony Kim, head of technology investing in BlackRock’s fundamental equities division. “Many [sub]-sectors are still in a recession. The only thing that has been really growing has been AI.”
