There’s a line by ‘Q’ in Skyfall (James Bond-2012), ‘I’ll hazard I can do more damage on my laptop sitting in my pajamas before my first cup of Earl Grey than you can do in a year in the field’. In reality are we getting closer to the 2012 fictional statement. Are we getting closer to a line that so far has not been crossed by nation states, where a logical attack facilities a physical attack?

It costs less than a tank of fuel for an F35 to launch a major cyber attack, before breakfast, in your pajamas, without being identified and attributing the attack to someone else. Making it harder to identify the adversary quickly and harder to launch a targeted response.

Geopolitical cyber is real and requires both a nation state and private sector response of both offensive and defensive cyber. Many nations have an offensive capability and regulation is just starting to develop a defensive one.
