There’s a lot of discussion taking place about cybersecurity and the defence industry. This week, the United States Department of War announced it was pausing Phase II of the CMMC program, and the UK Ministry of Defence asked all industry partners to achieve Defence Cyber Certification (DCC) Level 0 by 31st December 2026.

I am looking forward to attending the Farnborough Airshow next week to discuss DIB cybersecurity with companies across the international DIB. As the DoW is focused on CMMC Level 1 and Level 2 self-assessments, the MoD is starting to push DCC forward, beginning at Level 0 and Cyber Essentials.

For the UK DIB that supports both the DoW and MoD, compliance just got complex.
