There’s been a few column inches written about the SECs announcement of its Cyber and Emerging Technologies Unit Rachel V. Rose, JD, MBA. In addition to allot of speculation about how the SEC will move ahead with cybersecurity and AI oversight and assurance (the 2023 proposed regulation of broker dealer cyber is still……..proposed).What we should consider with regard the direction of travel by the new US administration, is that cybersecuirty remains a national security concern. A concern that permutates down through CNI providers, financial markets and infrastructure. So one observation from last weeks announcement by the SEC is that there appears to be continued appetite to continue its focus on the disclosure of cybersecurity by public issuers. AKA the Final Cyber Rule. One also wonders what the next steps will be between the SEC and SolarWinds?@Thaddeus Dziekanowski Brian D.
