This is an important read to gauge the sentiment of security within Financial Services. As the CISO of JP Morgan pens an open letter to its suppliers warning of his expectations for their management of security risk. The letter highlights JPMs requirements for suppliers to prioritise security over speed of delivery, that supplier security architecture will be scrutinised and the security of supplier systems is of critical importance if they connect with JPM. Emphasizing software security and quality has taken a back seat over delivery speed and time to market. We stand at a critical juncture. Providers must urgently reprioritize security, placing it equal to or above launching new products. ‘Secure and resilient by design’ must go beyond slogans – it requires continuous, demonstrable evidence that controls are working effectively, not simply relying on annual compliance checks@Thaddeus Dziekanowski, there’s a real demonstratable need to move towards CDM. To make cybersecurity risk management a continuous real time activity, demonstrating control effectiveness as part of enterprise risk management. Enabling real-time evaluation of controls as part of the management of cyber, technology and resilience risk.@Thaddeus Dziekanowski Brian D. McCarthy Faisal KhanVeritas GRC J.P.
