This is the talk of the week, but in fairness its been an issue discussed for the past 18 months. One posts it just because of that, cyber is a national security threat and one that requires a whole of society approach. While geopolitical tensions rise and we head towards a self imposed 2027 Chinese deadline, a Kinetic war continues in Ukraine and tensions in the Middle East rise. Cyber is a central domain of operation.

The challenge that we face in the West is we spent years relying on partnerships with ‘Allies’ and friends. Built up our dependance on digital, without addressing cybersecurity. We are now having to circle back and fix the problems we created.

What was a FUD debate in the board rooms of public and private sector firms may no longer be a distant issue. It may be getting closer to being front and center wherever you are in the world. Maybe the realization that cyber is a national, economic and societal security problem is being realized, switch of the digital and other things stop working.

The only question one has is.

‘Whose got the solutions to fix this, and what are they?’

Few people have the keys to the Kingdom and time is not on our side.
