Those pesky nation state threat actors, using cybersecurity as a weapon……….

Ukrainian security forces are focused on Russian CNI, this time targeting Vega, a Russian ISP. With a knock on effect of knocking out 1173 of the provider’s switches and 10 of the company’s servers and completely destroying information.

Note the terms ‘completely destroying”……….A ransomware atta k is only a ransomware attack when money is involved and nation states want to test their products. A ransome is still the destruction of information, it doesn’t take much to destroy information once you’re behind the firewall.
