To quote ‘There maybe trouble ahead’, the company that owns the third party supplier at the center of the incident Synnovis, German based Synlab AG seems not to be immune to cyber attacks. As the attack on Synnovis is the third to affects the group in the past 12 months. Highlighting the challenges Synnovis faces.

There are many questions raised if the incident is going to take months to resolve. With the history of cyber attacks against the parent company, was Synnovis prepared for a cyber attack; what has the NHS done to oversight a critical supplier; what contingency plans did Synnovis or the NHS have in place, the list goes on.

One wonders if attack such as this will influence the UK Governments position on the payment of ransoms?
