We have seen first hand the development of a hybrid war between Russia and Ukraine. One that has led to a dramatic increase in cyberattacks against organisations globally.

While we discuss the threat of a ‘new axis of power’ and the possibility of another war and the need to rearm, how will we address the non-kinetic battle field that is cyber. Cyber is a battlefield that is broader, deeper and more technically complex than the kinetic battle field. You don’t know where the attack comes from, its highly unlikely that the attack can be traced to a source by most government agencies and can cause more damage than a kinetic attack (outside of nuclear). While we have 100’s of years of experience in dealing with kinetic war, we have only a few years experience in dealing with cyber.

Worryingly the ‘New Axis’ of nations are also very adept at using cyber as a weapon. With nation state and proxy threat actors spending years working their way into CNI. (https://lnkd.in/dYUimTRH)
