We started writing about the adoption of the RMF, DoDi 8510.01, reciprocity and how the DoD, and other agencies can address cybersecurity risk management through reciprocity back in 2021. We called our strategy the Augusta Plan and presented to several U.S Federal agencies. Its positive to see the RMF and FISMA being discussed by the DoD, and reciprocity on the agenda for cybersecurity risk management. (www.augustagrp.com)
Regulations such as the SEC final cyber rule, EU NIS 2 and DORA require the adoption of the RMF as a solution to demonstrate risk management. A solutions that enables the implementation of the CSF and a suitable cybersecurity standard (there’s a paper on this in the site above). By setting and owning the cybersecurity standard covered companies and cyber insurers can set the baseline for cybersecurity risk management, reciprocity and maturity of cybersecurity risk management of data types.
Under our Veritas GRC brand we recognise the RMF as the most appropriate solution to enable cybersecurity risk management regulatory compliance. A solution we have embedded into our board cybersecurity risk management program, and our cybersecurity risk management advisory services. Enabling covered entities oversight, assure and attest compliance to cybersecurity regulation.
You have to skate to where the buck is going to be, not where it is.
