When it comes to security I’ve not found professional qualifications which put the security professional at equivalence with say a Lawyer, Accountant, Engineer or Architect. For example you can be the CISO of a $Trn bank and require no qualifications. Yet in the UK to sign off a financial audit you must be a member of a professional body. Or be a member of the solicitors regulatory body to practice law.

You may ask why if you are in the Americas you would want to become CSyP. Well it is for the very reason that there are no professional security qualifications (it is not the same as qualifications of trade-craft). CSyP is a professional security qualification which is independent and assessed by peers within the security sector, as well as being a standard which is set under Royal Charter. It is only 1 of a handful of professional qualifications recognised by CPNI. (https://lnkd.in/dEFPG4A). It is also supported by ASIS International UK (https://lnkd.in/dbH8sVm)

If you are looking to achieve the highest standard in security then this maybe worth attending.
