With the frequency, severity and complexity of cyber attacks globally I have always asked the question, why we do not see the same volume of attacks in the UK? The UKs Heath, Social care and Revenue and Customer looks to suffer from the same issues as many public organizations sectors with legacy systems, applications and databases. With systems out of vendor support, there will be little doubt systems will have not been patched fully prior to service roll-off and unpatched following.

One has to hope that these systems are heavily monitored to identify threats and shut down.
