With this weeks announcement that the UK government is not adopting corporate governance reforms, we won’t be moving away from the drain anytime soon. Coming a time when other nations seem to be putting the plug in the plug hole, and filling the sink with a dilute solution of bleach. One has to ask the question why the UK does not follow suit?

We are doing ourselves no favors. Cyber is an excellent example of the failure to govern cyber risk. When we are part of an international trading ecosystem, we all rely on harmonized regulations, standards and governance. Those that chose to adopt approaches that do not suit those of their customers will simply lose out on contracts, or their products and services will be bared from sale and distribution (regulation is already written and being proposed)
