The 2022 NSA report is a great read and provides insight into the work and challenges the agency has had to deal this year. A year that bought about allot of change with cybersecurity, including an increase in cyber threats, improvements in relationships between Federal government and the the U.s public and private sector and between international partners.

The report highlights the close collaboration with the DoJ, DoT and the work in 2022 to hold hackers responsible for cyber crime. The work the NSA undertook with the Defense Industry Base (DIB) to reduce the threat of IP theft, and the support it gave to SMBs to develop better cyber hygiene. The work of NSAs threat intelligence services for threat and vulnerability monitoring to identify and remediate known DNS threats and zero day vulnerabilities, and the work carried out in setting technical security standards for 5G, Cloud and internet protocols and developing quantum-resistant cryptographic tools.

2023 looks to be a year of further development in cyber, as cyber regulation develops and accountability for cyber security increases across the private sector. Is the NSA providing a foundation for closer collaboration and support in the U.S and its partners?
