A great post on the role AI plays in JP Morgan by Chris Skinner. AI is not a technology play for JPM, but a business solution. Spending $2 billion in 2025 on AI development, more than 10% of its tech budget.

Jamie says that “we took AI/Data out of Technology. It’s too important. We put it at the management table. The woman running AI & Data now reports to me and our President … [because] there will be no job, no function, nothing that won’t be affected by [AI].”

Using LLMs against their internal data, supporting the company deliver a more personalised service.

What about using AI for knowledge based function such as HR, Legal and Audit. The power of AI is being able to simplify front and back office processing Tom McLeod. AI enables audit to conduct assurance over risks such as cybersecurity, when it is combined with the knowledge of cyber and audit professionals. Facilitating the management of regulatory compliance.
