A very interesting read by the WSJ on the further independent work the SEC has requested into E&Y, if you can access it.
It launches a separate investigation, funded by E&Y into the role its manager and lawyers played in the CPA examine case. That a settlement in 2019 by another large audit firm for ‘cheating on CPA exams and improper information sharing by former PCAOB personnel’ initiated.
I wonder the impact of this work on auditors that may have had access to examine results for tests prior to June 2019, and any subsequent repercussions on the validity of audits that they carried out if they were not qualified to do so, if any?
