Australia set the standards for cybersecurity following NIST. The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) manages the standards on behalf of the Australian Government

The manual details the cyber security framework that organisations can apply, using a risk management framework. The EU has legislated cybersecurity risk management through EU NIS 2.0 and DORA and aims to release the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). U.S Federal Agencies are working towards cyber regulation of CNI, with the SEC proposing cybersecurity risk management legislation for public firms.

The manual aligns with U.S NIST standards, and adopts risk management. providing a step towards the harmonisation of cyber standards.
