China is moving ahead and strengthening its cyber supply chain security. Implementing oversight of cyber security over the supply chain associated with Critical Information and Infrastructure and associated products and services.
It’s still early days with a lot of unanswered questions. However the regulation appears to be an attempt to strengthen cyber security oversight across CNI including economic policy, the telecom and technology industry, public security, national security, finance, foreign investment, market regulation, television and radio, state secret and encryption.
An indication that China is taking its exposure to cyber attacks seriously and putting in place the state level capabilities to oversight and coordinate the necessary responses to attacks.
