Cyber attacks against the CNI sector are increasing. A recent reported attack against a UK power generator highlighted the vulnerability of cyber attacks against UK industry. The numerous reported attacks against global CNI have raised concerns about the vulnerability of CNI globally, and the drive by international regulators to raise accountability of the board of CNI companies demonstrates the importance of CNI cybersecurity risk management.

The UK is currently updating its original cybersecurity regulation, in line with the EU NIS2, passing the UK Cyber Resilience Bill through the House of Lords. It will raise many issues for the UK CNI industry that has not invested in cybersecurity and will end up paying the price.

If, as predicted, the UK government signs off the latest round of Secure Innovation funding (https://lnkd.in/ejTEzFeh), the UK CNI sector will have access to security professionals who can help evaluate their security posture, in part funded by the Government.

Cybersecurity is a national security issue and is being regulated as one globally.
