Cyber is a weapon; it has been used time and time again by threat actors to target CNI for financial gain. It should be of no surprise that nation-states use of cyber as a tool for tactical advantage. It is widely reported that the United States used cyber and other technical capabilities to turn off lights in Venezuela during recent events.
Gen. Dan Caine, chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said during the same press conference that U.S. Cyber Command, U.S. Space Command, and combatant commands “began layering different effects†to “create a pathway†for U.S. forces flying into the country early Saturday. Caine did not elaborate on what those “effects†entailed.
@Thaddeus Dziekanowski, you have said several times that everyone is in everyone else’s CNI networks. Maybe it is true, or some networks are more vulnerable than others to inside or outside threats?
