For those interested in the US DoW CMMC program and are covered by the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program, then this is worth consideration. As CMMC compliance may be a corporate differentiator for doing business with the U.S DoW under the FMS program.
In anticipation of future contracts, the US Department of War, Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Warfare Division, has issued an RFI. The purpose of the RFI is to gain an understanding of, and provide eligible foreign customers access to a broad range of US Security Cooperation solutions and Follow-On Technical Support (FOTS). So that foreign companies can provide technical, modernization, and lifecycle support for naval ships and systems sold to allied foreign navies through Foreign Military Sales (FMS). Covered nations include the United States, Egypt, Iraq, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Israel, Türkiye, Romania, Poland, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
Advanced notice of CMMC compliance is being requested through the RFI process, under the FMS program.
This is an example of the expansion of CMMC requirements across the Global DIB, which not only includes manufacturers of products under DoW contract, but also companies that provide services to the DoW, and in this instance, weapon systems sold under the FMS program.
