If you’re in CNI, this is worth a read. The US GAO released a report last week, following an assessment of the ‘Oversight of cyber security across high risk chemical facilities’. Covered by the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) program, within the Department of Homeland Security (https://lnkd.in/e36wfk8). It concluded, amongst other things, that it had not been updated in more than 10 years. Raising concerns of the cyber security risk to the estimated 3,300 facilities under its remit.
With the more recent attack on Israels water facilities. It maybe an opportunity to apply cyber standards across the sector in one form or another, CMMC maybe?
