Intimidating witnesses, no, misplacing evidence no. The evidence relating to a number of cases held on computers belonging to the Stuart police department, Florida. Has been locked out following the April 2019 hack.
The result being that several cases have been dropped. Including cases associated with 6 drugs dealers. Crimes which should be prosecuted and punished appropriately, if guilty. But there will be no day in court. Another not so visible impact of cyber. It’s not a victimless crime by any stretch of the imagination.
It’s a turn of events reminiscent of Mr. Robot.
