Is the UK starting to wake up to the challenges cyber presents in 2022? The UKs recent cyber strategy should stand it in good stead to protect the Nation? As countries like the US legislates cyber and embeds regulatory enforcement through the DoJ and DoT (be careful about paying ransomware in $ in 2022 as you could trip up under OFAC); the Australians update their national cyber strategy with a serious injection of steroids, and the Israelis and US continue to dominate the commercial cyber offensive and defensive markets.

Understanding the threat landscape is one thing and whilst useful, being prepared to manage cyber-risk requires enough skilled people to understand, accept and manage the risk. If changes to the cyber regulatory environment continue into 2022, the impact of cyber regulation on international trade should be a big concern for UK industry.
