It gets harder. The U.S pulled the UK and MoD up on its cybersecurity in the 2023 NDAA. So one hopes there is a cyber strategy in place to implement security across digital programs for the protection of data loss, IP theft and national security. The U.S recognised cyber as an issue for its own national security and they and the EU are working to address defensive cyber. Through the mass of cyber legislation coming out of Federal Agencies and the EU Commission.
If U.S and EU cyber regulation tells us anything it tells us that Cyber-Supply Chain Risk Management and Security across the Software Development Life Cycle is a priority. That could be of benefit to the MoD, if its suppliers supply the DoD.
The UK gets a mention in the 2023 draft NDAA signed by the House of Representatives (Foreign Partner Compliance with Cybersecurity Contract Clauses – page 322)Â that pulls the UK up on its cyber compliance, and the impact its stance may have on partner nations that supply the DoD. Requiring a report to the Armed Services Committee by the end of this year. (https://lnkd.in/e8T_z3Nq)
