Jack Welch has died. As a six sigma Master Black Belt and trainer I was fortunate to meet him. He took a simple concept based on process variation to improve performance, make change and deliver transformation. All those Green Belts, Black Belts and Master Black Belts had him to thank, he proved the concept, embedding 6δ into the DNA of GE.
As a chemical engineer he blew up a factory early on in his career, he expected to get fired. But was told by his boss, learn by your mistakes.
Love him or hate him, he turned GE in to a global powerhouse.
