National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) released an update to its Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) profile in February 2024 and in March the U.S DoD issued it Defense Industry Base (DIB) Strategy nested under NIST CSF. ‘A primary framework the DoD recommends for both public and private sector organizations to reference when managing and reducing cybersecurity risks (https://lnkd.in/em962r8j).
The NIST CSF is an important framework for organisation that wish to comply to U.S and EU cybersecurity risk management regulation such as the SEC Final Cyber rule, EU NIS 2 or DORA. NIST CSF provides the controls framework that when adopted with risk management (RMF) and governance frameworks, as required by regulators, enables covered entities to demonstrate compliance to cybersecurity risk management regulation.
So it’s a pleasure for myself and @Thaddeus Dziekanowski to be presenting on NIST CSF 2.0 for the The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. on the 23rd of April at 12pm ET. Adapting Veritas GRC CSF 2.0 and board cyber education programs to discuss the RMF, CSF 2 and the important role that internal audit plays in board and organizational cybersecurity risk management assurance and cybersecurity regulatory compliance.
